Island Queen Cruises Welcomes the Miami Lady

Miami, FL (June 19, 2008) – Island Queen Cruises has added a new vessel to its fleet. After 11 months to construct and a remarkable 21 day expedition from the waters of Wisconsin to Biscayne Bay, the Miami Lady is scheduled to begin its’ maiden voyage as early as next week.

The Miami Lady will offer upgraded amenities, as the most modern sightseeing boat in South Florida. Holding 149 passengers and built entirely of aluminum, the 74 foot vessel will replace the reputable Pink Lady, which is set for retreat after touring Biscayne Bay as part of the Island Queen Cruises fleet for over a decade.

When asked about the Pink Lady’s retirement, “I’m going to miss her,” says Haley Sofge, General Office Manager of Island Queen Cruises. He goes on to say, “But it was time for a change. Skipperliner worked with us to design and produce a well built boat, entirely of aluminum for longevity.” This Friday marks the last day of training for Island Queen employees aboard the new Miami Lady, which will begin regular sightseeing tours and dance cruises as of next week.
